We were a small group on September 18, 2019. It was cosy, just like a book club, with about 11 of us. Anne Lingafelter hosted, raising more than $1000 for cancer research through Can Too which has already raised $22 million.
We want to fight cancer deaths, just as much as we want to understand them.
It was great that Sue Pullar shared the speaking and answered questions. Sue is a palliative care nurse, quoted in A Good Death: a compassionate and practical guide to prepare for the end of life. She held my hand both literally and metaphorically when my mother died.
My sister Cecilia also joined us. It must have been hard, listening while I shared stories of our mother Jeanette and our brother Julian, so thank you Cecilia!
